Smart Scotties Serve

We love to participate in different service projects at Agnes Scott College! Last weekend, many Scotties joined the organization Hands on Atlanta for a project in an elementary school where children from pre-kindergarden up to middle school come weekly for morning tutoring program. It was really great to see the students engage with us and see them develop their reading, writing, creating and many other skills.

Besides tutoring, we helped out in some administrative work.

In the beginning, Scotties bonded with the students over drawing and coloring activities.

We were all impressed by how much, even the youngest children at the elementary school knew and could do.

President of Agnes Scott College Elizabeth Kiss was also participating in the project and showing young girls the importance of education.

Most of volunteers agreed that bonding with the students was our favorite part of the experience.

If you are interested in service and community work, you can be sure that Agnes Scott will help you find and organize these kind of opportunities. Our Center for Student Engagement offers regular outings as well as grants for on campus organizations and individuals who wish to organize their own service projects. How great is that!

Thank you to Center for Student Engagement for the pictures.
