Hello! Bonjour! My name is Erika McDonnell, and I am from Canada. I am a graduate from a United World College (UWC) so I am always happy to connect with fellow international students interested in Agnes Scott College. This year, I am a junior, which means that I am in my third year of school. I am a Psychology major, but I also have an interest in business, which is leading me down a Business Management minor path. I also take quite a few anthropology electives when I have the time. I have many interests and roles on campus. Aside from going to class, mornings sometimes start as one of the Team GLOBAL Ambassadors or as a tutor for Statistics/APA Style. As Vice-President for the Swing Dance Club on campus, I’m often planning our dances or going out dancing myself! Other evenings I might be focused on my research which combines mental health issues with cross-cultural psychology.
I appreciate Agnes Scott College for the fact that it brings a diversity of perspectives to the table. Being located in the American South means that there is a lot of ethnic, racial, and cultural diversity, which I feel is so important when exploring the world. The community here is welcoming and always striving to take on personal challenges and discover new things. My favourite place on campus is probably my house, because I live in a Theme House (ask me about it!) and I love to eat at Chai Pani, a really delicious Indian street food restaurant, in downtown Decatur.
